This plant is commonly known as Harlequin Glorybower and is native to Eastern Asia. New spring growth emerges purple and matures to green during the summer. When the leaves are crushed they smell like peanut butter! In Mid-summer pink calyces appear atop stems, which produce white flowers that are vanilla-scented. Once the flowers are finished, a bright blue berry emerges. These fruits are great for local birds.
